I have an MA in philosophy. I am a hard-core empiricist, a fairly
strict utilitarian, and sort of a loose existentialist. In plainer terms:

There is no god. If you want your life to have any meaning, you're going to have to make it up yourself.

There are no souls, and when you die, you're just dead. You'd better make the most of this life, because it's the only one you're going to get.

There are no rules, other than the laws of physics. You're going to have to make your way as best you can.

There is, however, love. Feel it. Embrace it.

Please don't expect me to have time to post (or even read) LJ a lot. I
have a *job* that, amazingly, requires me to spend most of my time at
work doing actual *work.*

I might occasionally post some adult content that wouldn't be appropriate for children. Most of my posts are friends-locked and I don't think there are any children reading my journal, but I make this statement anyway in accordance with LiveJournal's Policy on Adult Material.
